Oil Pan Skid Plate

Bolt To Engine Skid From Nth Degree Mobility

August, 2004

When I rotated the rear of the plate up to the bell housing it came too close to the bottom, center bolt on the bell housing. That bolt can be easily removed and there is room to reinstall it later. But the back of the skid came right up to the inspection plate on the bell housing. It would not rotate up into place because of the ridges on the inspection plate. The pictures on their instructions indicate that the plate doesn't come that close, but those strengthening ridges may have changed locations over the years.

I had to shave down those ridges enough for the skid to rotate fully up into position. Once in place, there was a bit of a gap between the skid plate and the bell housing mounting holes. I had to add a couple of washers between the skid and the bolts on the bell housing. Fitment is not this product's best feature.
