Banks TorqueTube Headers

Exhaust Headers from Banks Power

February, 1999

I was initially quite pleased with the Torque Tubes. The Jeep sounded better and it felt like there was an improvement in engine performance. The documentation from Banks was accurate and well illustrated, and it included the proper torque sequence for the headers. The manifold came with a new gasket that is nice and thick and does not need any sealant.

A year and a half after installing Banks Torque Tubes, I heard the leak. I took the headers off hoping to find the gasket was at fault, but that wasn't the case. There were a number of cracks in the headers. To their credit, they did honor their warranty and sent me a replacement set. I also purchased a much less expensive replacement with the bellows style flex built in for the ports on either end. They have been holding up quite well while the replacement headers from Banks sit on a shelf in the garage gathering dust.
