Replace those Factory Dust Guards

The brake rotor comes right off of the hub at this point. It was a little sticky, but a few taps with a hammer in the center, next to the wheel studs loosened it up. I will set it aside carefully so as not to damage the smooth braking surface until I'm ready to reinstall it later.

Next, I'm going to unbolt the hub unit and remove the hub unit and axle as one piece. The dust shield will come loose when I do and it has to go back on in the same position it was in originally. It is very easy to accidentally rotate the dust shield during the reinstall process, so I will make note of how it lines up so I get it back in the right place. This is where a digital camera comes in handy!
