Hiding the EVAP Canister
1997-2002 Jeep Wranglers
My 1998 TJ has this EVAP canister mounted under the hood on the driver side fender well. Coincidentally, there is a place about the same size and shape hidden under what looks like a second battery tray below the brake master cylinder.
A quick look at the FMS reveals this encouraging bit "A maintenance free, EVAP canister is used on all vehicles." That means theere is no reason not to bury it deeper in the engine bay and free up that space.
The canister's only connnections are 3 vapor hoses of various sizes that needed a bit of an adjustment to reach to the new location. The existing mounting bracket does hold other items, but I could cut or modify it considerably, depending on my needs.
